It is based on the Charlotte Gray novel Gold Diggers: Striking it

Rich in the Klondike and production will start in March in Alberta, Canada. Discovery currently has three reality series about hunting for gold, two based in Alaska and one in Ghana.

Discovery hasn’t named any actors involved or set an air-date.

Fans - particularly those in the Gulf - of the network's documentaries are set for a great new year as the cable television provider OSN will launch a high-definition version Discovery World on January 1.

The channel is packed with adventure documentaries and factual programs including the popular Prototype This! and Amazing Medical Stories.
