Complaint made against Bolly star Siddiqui

A complaint was registered with police on Sunday against Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui by a woman from the area in which he lives. She alleged that he pushed her and behaved inappropriately during a dispute over a parking space. Heena Sheikh, 24, the daughter of Soni Dandekar, the chairwoman of the Zohra Aghadi Nagar housing society, filed the complaint at Mumbai’s Versova police station, saying she was also manhandled by Siddiqui’s bodyguards. “I have been living here since 1994 and he moved here just a year ago and he has captured the parking slot,” Dandekar said. “We sent him many notices and even told him, ‘You are the flat owner, but this outside property is not yours’ – but he never acknowledged our complaints.” She added that when her daughter took photographs of the actor using the parking spot “he, along with his brother, and support staff manhandled her and pushed her.” – IANS

Anniversary jokes from star’s wife

Former Bollywood actress Twinkle Khanna joked that she got "a blank look" from actor husband Akshay Kumar on their 15th wedding anniversary on Sunday. The 41-year-old shared on Twitter reflections of the special occasion, writing: "Your husband gave you anything for your anniversary? Yes! He gave me a blank look #Lamejokes." In another message she posted: "Your husband gave you anything for your anniversary? Yes! He gave me a headache. #Lamejokes." Khanna later set the record straight, however, with a photo of the couple looking happy. "Your husband gave you anything for your anniversary? He gave me 15 years of moments like these," she wrote. The couple, who married in 2001, have a son, Aarav, and daughter, Nitara. – IANS

Lambert unveils new song

Country singer Miranda Lambert has surprised fans with a preview of a new song, Sweet By and By, in which she sings about childhood lessons learnt from her parents. The track was recorded for producer Dave Cobb's upcoming compilation album, Southern Family. "Tell the truth, earn your dollar, let not your heart asunder, save yourself, believe in faith, good things come to those who wait," the 32-year-old sings. Southern Family is due out on March 18. The album features contributions from country music artistes such as Jason Isbell, Zac Brown, Brandy Clark and Chris Stapleton. – Reuters

Badminton fun for Bollywood stars

Much to the delight of fans, actors Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan and Riteish Deshmukh competed in a match during the Premier Badminton League final on Sunday at Siri Fort Sports Complex. Star Wars knocked off box office top spot

After four weeks as king of the box-office charts in North America, Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens, which was partly filmed in Abu Dhabi, has been replaced by comedy sequel Ride Along 2. It made US$39.5 million (Dh145.08m) over the four-day Martin Luther King holiday weekend. The Force Awakens slid to third place with about $30m. It has earned $851 million in the United States and Canada, and $1.86 billion globally. Awards darling The Revenant took second spot with an estimated $34m over the long weekend. – Reuters

Coldplay frontman Chris Marin fasts one day a week as he believes it improves his music. "I started when I was sick one time," Martin told The Sun newspaper. "This guy said to try not eating for a day – he told me it would make my body feel healthier.
