With thousands of books available at the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, you are bound to spot a few of the quirky variety. One which is the Arabic translation of comedian Steve Harvey's 2012 self help book Straight Talk, No Chaser: How to Find, Keep, and Understand a Man, which in Arabic has been given the new title of Men's Secrets: How to find Mr Right and Keep Him.
The American bestseller has Steve Harvey giving females no-hold-barred insights into male psyche. “Know that if this man isn’t looking for a serious relationship, you’re not going to change his mind just because you two are going on dates and being intimate,” he says.
“You could be the most perfect woman on the Lord’s green earth and you’re capable of interesting conversation, you cook a mean breakfast, you hand out backrubs like sandwiches, you’re independent (which means, to him, that you’re not going to be in his pockets) but if he’s not ready for a serious relationship, he going to treat you like sports fish.”
