Channel 4 FM launches new breakfast show

Channel 4 Radio’s new wake up show, Mornings with Marwen and Eve, launched this week featuring new morning hosts Marwan Al Awadi, aka DJ Bliss and Eve Jaso.

Jaso has been hosting the breakfast slot for the last 12 months, while Al Awadi joins her following what programme director Tom Ferguson describes as an exhaustive search.

“I’ve searched every corner of the globe for the right person to take the reins of this show,” he explains. “But only after taking a step back, and re-reading my own mission statement of, ‘building a show specifically for the UAE’ did it dawn on me that the answer to achieving that was right here.”

Al Awadi may be new to the breakfast show on Channel 4, but he's already a household name across the UAE, having appeared extensively on both TV and radio (including a role in Dubai One's one-off The Bold and the Beautiful special while presenting on the channel last year) since his debut album The Projects was released in 2003.

On our first listen, the show’s a fairly typical breakfast affair, blending pop tunes, chat, competitions, travel news and special slots such as People’s Court, where the presenters and listeners seek to solve other listeners’ dilemmas. This week, an air stewardess from Dubai was torn over whether to follow her boyfriend who had been offered a job in Los Angeles. The jury was, sadly, split, so we’re not sure whether she went or not.
