The much-anticipated, much-delayed, opening of Palazzo Versace, took place in Dubai this week. Located in the Culture Village district of the city, the property occupies a waterfront plot with views of Dubai Creek.

The maison’s vice president and creative director, Donatella Versace, exclusively designed the interiors and furniture for each of the hotel’s 215 rooms from their gold-detailed ceilings and mosaic floors to the jungle-print wallpaper.

Versace's signature Medusa head, alongside peacock and horse motifs, also feature prominently throughout the hotel's 169 condominiums which range in size from one to six bedrooms.

The price of a room at Palazzo Versace this weekend starts from Dh2,100, excluding charges, according to staff. Two of the hotel’s eight planned dining establishments are currently operational and the spa is expected to be completed before March, they added.

Palazzo Versace’s opening this month marks the luxury brand’s second worldwide after one on Australia’s Gold Coast. The hotel concept is expected to be rolled out in more destinations in the coming years, with Macau confirmed as the next.
