Amitabh Bachchan is ill again after surgery

It is not yet a full recovery for the Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan, who said he plans to undergo a scan to explore "excruciating pain" he felt this week following his latest abdominal surgery in February, according to BBC News.

The 69-year-old actor fell ill after performing as part of the star-studded line-up at the Indian Premier League cricket competition's opening ceremonies in Chennai last week. After taking to his blog to write about his latest "horrendous" scare, the chatty star took to Twitter yesterday morning to reassure the media hordes who had gathered outside his home.

"Dearest TV media and vans outside my home, please do not stress and work so hard. It's nothing, just another visit to my doctor!!" The actor has had intestinal issues after he was injured shooting an action scene on the set of a movie in 1982.

Woman warned to stay away from Alec Baldwin

A Canadian actress accused of stalking the actor Alec Baldwin has been told to stay away from him.

Genevieve Sabourin was charged in a Manhattan court on Monday, a day after she was arrested on charges of stalking and aggravated harassment when Baldwin filed a complaint with police.

A judge released Sabourin, who has acted in television and film, on her own recognisance and issued a temporary order of protection for Baldwin, the Manhattan district attorney's office said.

The two met a decade ago on the set of The Adventures of Pluto Nash, in which Baldwin had a cameo and Sabourin was a publicist. According to authorities, Baldwin, 54, told police that Sabourin, 40, had been sending him emails for several weeks and that the notes were disturbing. She professed her love for him, begging to have his children and telling him to leave his wife.

Green Day to induct Guns N' Roses into rock Hall of Fame

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is about to get a few new members. Todd Mesek, a Hall of fame spokesman, said on Monday that the Green Day members Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool will induct fellow hard rockers Guns N' Roses into the Hall on Saturday.

Mesek says it's not yet known if the original Guns N' Roses line-up will reunite and perform. Mesek say he believes the frontman Axl Rose, the guitarist Slash and other band members plan to attend.

Cyndi Lauper memoir due out this autumn

Cyndi Lauper swears her book will show her true colours.

The award-winning performer has a memoir coming out this autumn, Atria Books announced on Monday.

Cyndi Lauper will cover the singer's story from her troubled childhood to superstardom in the 1980s to the "ups and downs" that followed.

In a statement issued by Atria, Lauper, 58, said: "Sometimes I come off good, sometimes not so good."

Rolling Stones heading to the studio

On Monday, the guitarist Ronnie Wood said the Rolling Stones will meet in a recording studio later this month "to just throw some ideas around".

He and the band just want "to get the feel again".

"It's like working out for the Olympics or something," Wood said about preparing for the band's 50th anniversary. "You've got to go into training. So we're going to go into training."

Clinton endorses Luc Besson's biopic

Hillary Clinton said she watched the movie The Lady, by the French director Luc Besson, as she flew to military-dominated Myanmar in December on the first trip there by a US secretary of state in 56 years.

She called the biopic of the country's democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi a "moving experience" and thanked Besson for getting her the DVD, "so I could watch it as I was travelling to actually meet the real person".

Clinton also paid tribute to Suu Kyi, played by Michelle Yeoh in the film, and said the screening was an opportunity to celebrate "this extraordinary woman's struggle to bring democracy to her people".

Dior names new artistic director

On Monday, Christian Dior named the Belgian designer Raf Simons, 44, as its new artistic director, seven months after John Galliano was fired from the Paris fashion house last year after he made anti-Semitic remarks.

Simons - who began his career as a furniture designer and has had his own successful menswear label – will present his first show for the renowned Dior fashion house in July, according to Monday's announcement.

Simons, who designed for the minimalist Jil Sander label from 2005 until just recently, was a top name among rumoured candidates for the Dior job.

Bollywood hockey movie in the works

Sports movies continue their good run in Bollywood. Shah Rukh Khan recently confirmed to the Indian daily, Hindustan Times, that he has been approached by a filmmaker to star in a movie about Dhyan Chand, the Indian hockey champion who won three Olympic gold medals.

Khan is not new to hockey. His film Chak De (2007), in which he played the role of the coach of India's women's national team, was well received by critics and audiences.

Cinemagoers this year have already given a gold star to another sports biopic, Paan Singh Tomar, and are looking forward to Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, starring Farhan Akhtar.
