Listen up Disney fans, the casting crew behind the live-action musical film Aladdin are in town and they're looking for talent for the upcoming production.
Pyramedia are calling for those between the ages of 18 and 22 who can sing at a Broadway level to audition for the Guy Ritchie-directed film.
Auditions have already begun with Abu Dhabi hopefuls getting their turn today (April 5). This will continue tomorrow (April 6) from 11.30am, before moving on to Dubai on Friday (April 7) and Saturday (April 8). The UAE auditions follow an initial casting call that went out in the UK earlier this month.
The production company is looking for talent to play the roles of Aladdin and Jasmine. Disney originally released the animated classic in 1992, and it tells the story of a young man in a made up Middle Eastern city — Agrabah — who frees a genie from a magical lamp. Jasmine is the princess he falls in love with.
It is believed auditions will call for singing and reading and it is suggested that the film will begin shooting in July.
Abu Dhabi auditions are being held between 11.30am and 6pm at the twofour54 building in Park Rotana Complex, while those in Dubai will be held from 1pm-6pm at office 1606 in Aurora Tower in Dubai Media City.
