Abu Dhabi’s Yas Waterworld hosts first live action role play event

In a piece of news likely to thrill fantasy fans, Abu Dhabi attraction Yas Waterworld will host the UAE’s first live action role-playing (LARP) game.

The attraction will be overhauled into a themed environment so that games can take place every night throughout December. Gamers live their roles in the space, and dress up as their chosen character.

Inspired by the history of the UAE, the game is entitled Legends of Arabia: The Quest of the Pearl Tribes, with guests invited to take a break from reality and experience life as part of an Emirati tribe.

“The UAE has a rich history and as the only Emirati-themed water park we are proud to incorporate this theme into our live action role-play,” says general manager Bianca Sammut.

The games take place at 7pm every night from December 1 (Mondays and December 24-25 excepted), and cost Dh299 per person including an Arabic-themed buffet dinner and souvenir photo. Group rates are also available.
