Dubai Design District, or d3 as it’s abbreviated, is a purpose-built community design hub, located adjacent to the Business Bay area in Dubai, that is dedicated to promoting and nurturing emerging local talent. When completed it will provide a creative home to established international design, luxury and fashion brands complete with distinct public areas, unique street furniture, shaded walkways, as well as a creek-side esplanade, a pop-up shop area and an amphitheatre. This weekend, organisers are hosting a free preview event called ‘Meet d3’, which kicked off last night with a performance by the British musical talent John Newman.
