Filming of the Telugu movie, Duvvada Jagannadham (DJ) has wrapped after a succesful 12-day shoot in the capital.

The cast and crew shot in 11 locations including Galleria Mall, Adnec, Reem Island, Ferrari World, Jumeirah Etihad Towers and Hodariyat Bridge - where they shot some of the dance sequences.

The movie starring Allu Arjun and Pooja Hegde, was directed by Harish Shankar and produced by Dil Raju’s Sri Venkateswara Creations.

The stars were joined by 120 crew members, 150 locally-cast extras, and over 40 dancers for the first shoot in the capital from the Telugu industry, or ‘Tollywood’, one of the largest in India and producing around 300 films per year.

The movie is a love story which sees Arjun’s character travel to Abu Dhabi to win back his love, played by Hegde, after she falls for a slick businessman from the city.

Filming was assisted and facilitated by twofour54 Abu Dhabi and the Abu Dhabi Film Commission.

Director Shankar said: “I have shot five films in India and for this, my sixth film I wanted something completely new. Something exciting to match the script.

“I had seen movies made in Abu Dhabi and I knew this was the perfect location. I particularly appreciated the close assistance offered by the Abu Dhabi Film Commission, who helped me to discover different locations to support the storyline and facilitated the filming process for us. I found the whole experience to be very smooth and everyone was very cooperative.”
