Louis Theroux has revealed that he would like to make a documentary about Melania Trump, describing the First Lady of the United States as "a metaphorical prisoner".
In an interview with Press Association, the British filmmaker said: "You would sort of film with her in this kind of gilded cage that she inhabits.
“There’s something of, ‘could she have known what she was signing on for?’ Did she just think she was marrying a billionaire, who she thought was perhaps quite funny, and interesting?
“Maybe not physically attractive, but that he could provide her with a certain lifestyle, introduce her to a world that was interesting?”
Theroux, whose latest documentary, Mothers on the Edge, is a look inside two psychiatric units for mothers with serious mental health problems, added: "And then now, [Melania] is a prisoner of – I mean, I'm speaking hypothetically because we don't really know, do we – but she's a metaphorical prisoner of that lifestyle."
Theroux also said that he would be interested in making a film about WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange. "He's in custody, presumably, and not doing interviews," he said. "He's not a big personality, from [the] little bits I've seen. He's very deliberative in the way he speaks, and thoughtful."
Speaking of his peer in documentary filmmaking, Good Morning Britain's Piers Morgan, Theroux admitted that he appreciated his style.
“I’ve always thought he was pretty good, actually,” he said. “What he’s got, that I like, is he’s not afraid to bring the fight, you know? I mean, I think in other words, he’ll call [expletive]. So, I enjoy that.
“Piers works with someone I used to work with, and he’s done some crime stories and prison stories in America, serial killers, and I always quite enjoy them.”

The UN-brokered ceasefire deal for Hodeidah will be implemented in two stages, with the first to be completed before the New Year begins, according to the Arab Coalition supporting the Yemeni government.
By midnight on December 31, the Houthi rebels will have to withdraw from the ports of Hodeidah, Ras Issa and Al Saqef, coalition officials told The National.
The second stage will be the complete withdrawal of all pro-government forces and rebels from Hodeidah city, to be completed by midnight on January 7.
The process is to be overseen by a Redeployment Co-ordination Committee (RCC) comprising UN monitors and representatives of the government and the rebels.
The agreement also calls the deployment of UN-supervised neutral forces in the city and the establishment of humanitarian corridors to ensure distribution of aid across the country.

Dubai launched the pilot phase of its real estate tokenisation project last month.
The initiative focuses on converting real estate assets into digital tokens recorded on blockchain technology and helps in streamlining the process of buying, selling and investing, the Dubai Land Department said.
Dubai’s real estate tokenisation market is projected to reach Dh60 billion ($16.33 billion) by 2033, representing 7 per cent of the emirate’s total property transactions, according to the DLD.

“One mistake people always make is adding extra wasabi. There is no need for this, because it should already be there between the rice and the fish.
