The 25th anniversary of Friends was Sunday, September 22. In honour of the long-running show, there were many who paid tribute to the popular sitcom on social media. Friends made its six young stars some of the biggest names in entertainment history and, despite ending in 2004, continues to be one of the most successful shows in television history.

Here’s a look at some of the best Friends tributes we've come across:

The One That Happened In Dubai

The Burj Khalifa and The Dubai Fountain took part in the celebration with a synchronised performance that featured the theme song I'll Be There For You by The Rembrandts:

The One With All The Fashion

While not on social media, designer Ralph Lauren, who appeared as himself on the show as the boss of Rachel Green (Jennifer Aniston), announced a Friends-inspired collection in honour of the show's anniversary:

The 74-piece collection, is titled The One Where They Wear Ralph Lauren, and is inspired by all six of the friends. Expect to see Rachel-style suede mini-skirts, Chandler-esque sweater vests and leather trousers, which Ross would be proud to wear.

The One With The Jonas Brothers

The Jonas Brothers uploaded a cute tribute video where the three brothers and their wives run around a castle backed by the theme song. They simply titled it “The One Where The Band Got Back Together,” adding: "Happy 25th anniversary Friends":

The One(s) With All The Celebrities

The official Friends Twitter account also shared some snaps with famous faces on the Central Perk set. They included Academy and Emmy award winning actress Viola Davis:

Actor Donal Logue (Vikings, Gotham):

And The Walking Dead actress Pollyanna McIntosh:

The One With The Sprouse Brother

Speaking of celebrating 25 years, Cole Sprouse, who played Ross Geller’s son Ben (along with his twin, Dylan) also paid tribute by posing on the iconic orange couch from Central Perk Cage with Hugsy, Joey’s toy penguin. The photo was captioned “The One Where Ben Grew Up”:

The One When Meghan Trainor Sang

Meghan Trainor also paid tribute by singing a cover of the theme song along to the Empire State Building's light show:

The One With The Kittens

And finally, TBS Network ran an adorable tribute. Shot inside a miniature replica of Monica Gellar's apartment, the team at TBS Network teamed up with Best Friends Animal Society in Los Angeles to re-create the Friends opening. Even better? It's with kittens. The post also raise awareness for the animal organisation:

The One You Can Still Do ...

For those who may have missed the tributes in Dubai, there's still a chance to get in on the action. Fans can pose and take photos on the Central Perk set displayed at The Dubai Fountain.

It includes the signature orange couch, rug, coffee table and other accessories as seen on the show. It will be on until Wednesday, October 16.
