Paddyman is the winner of the UAE leg of Holiday Inn Express Songwriting Competition.
The Dubai singer-songwriter won the talent quest which was also held in India, Indonesia and South Africa.
Held over six weeks, contestants submitted entries of self composed and performed songs with lyrics reflecting the “Holiday Inn Express brand values.”
It was Paddyman's Express Yourself (Everybody got a bit of fun inside) that was deemed the best fit through a combination of votes by a judging panel and the public.
Paddyman will now join fellow international winners in having a professional music video shot for their respective songs and released to the public within two months.
Perhaps one of the winners will go on to achieve the same feat as one of the competition judges Tresor Riziki.
The singer-songwriter won the competition in 2012 in his native South Africa and went on to become successful pop-music artist.
“Coming up with an original song is a huge challenge and the winners have really impressed me with their ability to create a catchy and clever song,” he said.
“I can’t wait to see the music videos that will be showcased soon.”
