Back in a digital format for the second time, the Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards 2021 promises a bevy of celebrity appearances and performances. The show, which airs in the UAE on Monday will be hosted by actor and comedian Kenan Thompson (of Saturday Night Live and All That fame), and includes a performance by Justin Bieber.
Justin Bieber is still going strong
Beliebers will get a chance to watch the star belt out his new single Anyone, as well as join forces with American rapper Quavo on the duo's single Intentions, which was originally intended for 2020's ceremony.
Bieber is almost nominated for no fewer than five awards, including Favourite Male Artist, Favourite Song (Yummy), and three nods for Favourite Music Collaboration (with Ariana Grande on Stuck with U, with Benny Blanco on Lonely, and with Chance The Rapper on Holy).
Star power
The other stars scheduled to be a part of Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards 2021 would not be out of place on the film and television industry’s most prestigious red carpets.
A statement released by the network lists Ironman Robert Downey Jr, Wonder Woman Gal Gadot and all-round Supergirl Millie Bobby Brown as slated to make an appearance. The trio are nominated for their roles in Dolittle, Wonder Woman 1984 and, in Brown's case, Enola Homes (Favourite Movie Actress) and Stranger Things (Favourite Female TV Star).
Cheering Eleven on will be her Stranger Things co-nominee Finn Wolfhard, and co-stars Noah Schnapp and Gaten Matarazzo.
Others part of the starry line-up are Anna Kendrick (Trolls World Tour), Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton) Iain Armitage (Young Sheldon) Joshua Bassett (High School Musical: The Musical: The Series), K-pop boy band BTS, and social stars Charli D'Amelio, David Dobrik and Addison Rae.
Also due to attend are reality TV star Kim Kardashian, actresses Sofía Vergara, Tiffany Haddish, Jennifer Garner and Marsai Martin, model Heidi Klum, footballer Terry Crews, and YouTubers Dani and Dannah Lane, and Liza Koshy.
Arab stars at Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards
The four acts nominated under the Favourite Star (Arabic) category include that by twin brothers Abdulla and Abdulaziz Bakr, also known as The Saudi Reporters. Their weekly show comprises comedic sketches, food tasting, science experiments and travel vlogs.
Omar Tries, the online series by young Bahraini filmmaker and YouTube Omar Farooq also makes the cut; it chronicles Farooq's journey as he experiences different vocations and situations, and includes education content rendered more engaging thanks to its storytelling format.
Other contenders include fashion-forward TV show host and content maker Azza Zarour, and YouTuber Bessan Ismail. The former has 3.3 million Instagram followers, while the latter has got more than 320 million views for her singing and slice-of-life clips.
Fans can still cast their votes for their favourite shows and stars via the Nick Play app, Twitter or the website, which also has the full list of categories and nominations.

A plume of black smoke rose from a fuel storage facility in the village of Kalynivka outside Kyiv on Friday after Russia said it had destroyed the military site with Kalibr cruise missiles.
"On the evening of March 24, Kalibr high-precision sea-based cruise missiles attacked a fuel base in the village of Kalynivka near Kyiv," the Russian defence ministry said in a statement.
