ABU DHABI // The Prodigy and Calvin Harris will headline this year’s Creamfields Abu Dhabi.

The pioneering British dance act and chart-topping Scottish DJ will take to the stage at Yas Island’s du Arena on December 13.

More electronic dance acts will be added to the line-up in the coming weeks.

The Prodigy are renowned for their explosive live sets crammed with hits from their more than two-decade career.

Led by DJ and producer Liam Howlett, with vocals by MCs Keith Flint and Maxim Reality, the trio immediately made an impression on the rave scene by injecting techno, rock and punk elements.

The group synthesised this approach to thrilling results on their third album, 1997’s The Fat of the Land.

It included the hit singles Firestarter and Breathe and became one of the most successful subversive releases of the decade and brought the normally disparate rock and dance communities together.

Calvin Harris will return to the UAE on a high. In June, Forbes declared him this year’s highest-earning DJ having grossed more than $46 million (Dh168 million) over the past 12 months.

Factors contributing to his healthy bank balance is his production work with stars such as Rihanna on We Found Love, Ellie Goulding on I Need Your Love and Florence Welch on Sweet Nothing.

His latest album, last year’s 18 Months, spawned more than 25 million in singles sales and nine top 10 hits in the British singles chart.

Tickets for Creamfields cost from Dh275 from www.ticketmaster.ae or by calling 800 (86 823) .

Existing Abu Dhabi Grand Prix ticket holders can get 20 per cent off general admission tickets.
