Rap star Gucci Mane to headline GirlGamer eSports Festival World Finals in Dubai

The rapper will perform on the main stage for the final day after local DJ Dany Neville

He was a headliner at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix last year and now global rap sensation Gucci Mane is back in the UAE to headline Dubai's GirlGamer eSports Festival World Finals on Saturday, February 22, after a set by local DJ Dany Neville.

Mane, whose real name is Radric Delantic Davis, is a seasoned star of the hip-hop world, particularly in the sub-genre of trap music. He burst onto the scene in 2005, blazing a trail to the Billboard Top 10 with hits such as Everybody Looking, Mr Davis and Woptober. He's since collaborated with the likes of Drake, Kanye West, Nicki Minaj and Bruno Mars.

No stranger to the UAE, as he's also performed at Drai's Dubai before, Mane will be jetting in from Atlanta for the female-focused eSports competition, which will bring in top names within the global e-gaming industry.

For the first time, the largest festival dedicated to female gamers is coming to the emirate. Taking place at Meydan Grandstand, the world finals of the GirlGamer eSports Festival will take place over four days from Wednesday, February 19 to Saturday, February 22.

Following the qualifying stages in Australia, South Korea, Singapore, Spain and Brazil, the competition in Dubai will bring together nine of the world’s best all-female gaming teams to compete for the prize pool of US$100,000 (Dh367,000).

In addition to the main tournament and concert, there will also be other events at the festival including a eSports business conference, educational seminars and a cosplay competition, with an international judging panel that includes Alodia Gosiengfiao and Saud Al Hazzani, offering a prize pool of $5,000.
