Pop star Enrique Iglesias is set to perform at Dubai’s newest entertainment district. The Spanish heart throb will return to the UAE to perform at new Palm Jumeirah destination The Pointe on December 14.
But this is no small in-store appearance, the Bailando singer will perform a full concert on a specially designed stage. Those who attended his 2015 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix after race gig know the singer is a charismatic and energetic performer.
With his backing band in tow, Iglesias’s shows are crowd pleasers with a euphoric set that moves easily between his English and Spanish hits. He is also known to invite the occasional fan on to the stage for a selfie, so if you are the lucky one chosen ensure your mobile phone is charged.
Iglesias's concert will be the first gig at the new The Pointe: located at the end of the Palm trunk and across the waters from Atlantis, the 136,000 square metre retail and entertainment complex will host more than 100 restaurants (some of which have opened), a cinema, a 1.5 kilometre promenade and a 12,000 square metre dancing fountain.
Restaurants set to open in the district include the all-American menu of Chicago Meatpackers, a dine-in cinema by Guy Fieri, a high-end French restaurant by famous chef Mathieu Viannay called Rue Royale, and a Greek restaurant called Ena.
Tickets are Dh150 (including VAT), with Dh115 redeemable at various dining outlets at The Pointe. Tickets are available at www.ticketmaster.ae.
