The Indian sitar player Ravi Shankar's daughter Anoushka accepted a Grammy on behalf of her late father – in a category in which she had also been nominated. "It's OK to lose to your father," the 31-year-old, who is also a sitar player and composer, said as she received the best world music album Grammy for her father. Ravi Shankar was also given a posthumous Lifetime Achievement Grammy. The award was accepted by Anoushka and Shankar's other daughter, the singer Norah Jones. The two noted that Monday marks two months exactly since his death. Shankar died in December at the age of 92. Just a few days before he died, he learnt he would receive the lifetime achievement honour and that he and his daughter were both nominated in the same category. – AFP
Hooda looking to show off funny side
Despite citing a good sense of humour, Randeep Hooda says he's never had the chance to show his funny side on the big screen, with more intense roles generally coming his way. "People say I have got a great sense of humour, which no one has seen on the silver screen until now," said the actor, who will next be seen in the thriller Murder 3 alongside Aditi Rao Hydari. Anil Kapoor hails India’s global impact
Anil Kapoor believes India is now establishing itself in the international film scene. "India is making a huge mark now. Kashyap wants to help promote Paradesi
Having already taken to Twitter to praise Bala Pazhanisaamy's Tamil period-drama Paradesi, the filmmaker Anurag Kashyap now wants to help promote the film in the northern region of India. Based on Paul Harris Daniel's novel Red Tea, Paradesi tells the story of tea plantation workers in pre-independence India. "Anurag Kashyap wants to release the film with English and Hindi subtitles in central and north India through his company Phantom Film," said a statement. Meanwhile, Kashyap is already busy wrapping up his forthcoming films Ugly and Bombay Talkies. – IANS
