American pop rockers Imagine Dragons to perform in Saudi Arabia

The 'Radioactive' stars are the latest headliners to be announced for the Ad Diriyah E-Prix

First there was Colombian Grammy Award winner Maluma, and now a second round of musical acts have been announced for Saudi Arabia's Ad Diriyah E-Prix.

American rockers Imagine Dragons will take to the stage on Friday, November 22 at Ad Diriyah, a heritage site north-west of Riyadh.

The band, made up of vocalist Dan Reynolds, guitarist Wayne Sermon, bassist Ben McKee and drummer Daniel Platzman, released their first album in 2012, which spawned the hits Radioactive and Demons.

Their latest album, Origins, was released last year, and features tracks such as Birds and Natural.

During their career, the chart-topping band have also won a ream of American Music Awards and Billboard Awards, as well as a Grammy in 2014 for Best Rock Performance.

The Imagine Dragons band will also be joined on the bill that night by Norwegian-British DJ Alan Walker and UK electronic stars Clean Bandit.

Faded hit-maker Walker, who released his debut album last year, has collaborated with the likes of Armin van Buuren, A$AP Rocky and Steve Aoki.

Clean Bandit, meanwhile, is made up of Grace Chatto, and brothers Jack and Luke Patterson, with their hits often vocalised by some of the music industry's most famous faces, such as Demi Lovato, Ellie Goulding and Zara Larsson.

The band, which first launched in 2012, is best known for singles Rather Be, featuring Jess Glynne, and Rockabye, with Sean Paul and Anne-Marie.

The trio of acts will perform on the second night of the Ad Diriyah E-Prix, which runs from Thursday, November 21 to Saturday, November 23.

The last night will be headlined by Pretty Boy, Dirty Boy star Maluma, who will be supported by Lebanese Canadian RnB singer Massari.

Similar to the Abu Dhabi F1 Grand Prix, the Saudi concerts will take place on a special performance stage after each race day.

This will be the second Formula E’s race to be held in the kingdom. Conceived in 2011, Formula E is a class of auto-racing that uses only electric-powered cars.

To attend the the after race concerts, it is necessary to purchase a ticket for the Ad Diriyah E-Prix. Tickets for both days begin from SAR450 (Dh 440.75) from www.diriyahseason.sa
