There is no doubt that Cuban-Spanish actress Ana de Armas can transform for a role, as we've seen with her work in everything from Yesterday to Blade Runner 2049.
In her latest project, the Knives Out star is channelling Marilyn Monroe for biopic Blonde, and in newly released photos, she is truly embodying Norma Jeane Mortenson.
Netflix has adapted Joyce Carol Oates's 2000 novel of the same title, a re-imagined version of the actress and singer's life, for the film, which is currently shooting in Los Angeles.

According to Netflix, the movie will tell the "private story of the world’s most famous [pin-up], Marilyn Monroe. The film is a fictional portrait of the model, actress and singer during the '50s and '60s, told through the modern lens of celebrity culture."
Brad Pitt is one of the producers of the movie, which is being directed by Andrew Dominik, who was behind Pitt hit, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. Adrien Brody is listed as portraying The Playwright, who we assume will represent Arthur Miller, while Bobby Cannavale will play Joe DiMaggio and Caspar Phillipson has been cast as The President, presumably John F Kennedy.
Monroe was with DiMaggio for a little under two years from 1953 until 1954, but married for just eight months. She was then married to Miller from 1956 until 1961, and allegedly with Kennedy for nine months from August 1961. The actress and singer later was later connected to Robert F Kennedy, JFK's younger brother, who does not appear to be represented in the movie, as of yet.
De Armas getting into character
It seems that de Armas has been using Instagram as a mood board of sorts, posting images of the actress at her prime.
"Thinking of you today, Norma Jeane. You’ve never been more present and closer to my heart. Thank you," de Armas captioned a post of Monroe playfully holding a flower in her teeth on August 5. She also paid tribute to the actress on her June 1 birthday this year, when she would have been getting into character ahead of the shoot.
