After his shoot for Tiger Zinda Hai in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain last year, Salman Khan is back in the Emirates to shoot the last leg of Race 3 in Abu Dhabi. Khan and the cast and crew reportedly arrived in the early hours of Sunday morning.
"Here we are for the last lap in Abu Dhabi. It is a #RaceToFinishLine," the movie's director Remo D'Souza said on his Instagram account on Sunday.
As revealed by The National last month, Abu Dhabi will be the backdrop to some dramatic car stunts in the third franchise of the popular Race movies.
Salman was spotted at Mumbai Airport as he left for the UAE last night.
The movie is slated for release in June this year, and Abu Dhabi fans have already started snapping selfies with the star Khan while he's here:
Fans in the UAE will remember the famous scene from the first Race that was filmed on the road of Jebel Hafeet mountain in Al Ain.
This sequel, which will see Salman replace Saif Ali Khan in the main role of businessman Ranvir Singh, will feature a stunt car-pile-up on the streets of Abu Dhabi as well as a Ford Raptor pick-up truck being driven off a bridge in the capital, according to sources close to the production.
The movie is also set to use one of the biggest, most technologically advanced drones ever seen in the UAE to capture the action from the best angles, with experts being flown in from North America to build and control the airborne beast.
The cast and crew are coming in from Bangkok, where chase scenes in a jungle setting were filmed. There was a break however last week as Salman Khan decided to squeeze in a song shoot for another sequel, Yamla Pagla Deewana 3, a production by classic star Dharmendra and his son Bobby Deol.
Deol is also Salman's co-star in Race 3 along with Jacqueline Fernandez, who is training in mixed martial arts for the climax scenes.
