A year after the pandemic forced filming to cease, Bollywood actor Salman Khan has announced the release date for Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai.

The film, one of Khan’s most eagerly awaited, was set to be released during Eid last year, and had been predicted to be a big hit at the box office. However, the actor has now confirmed it will be released in time for Eid Al Fitr 2021.

It has become a tradition for Khan to release a movie for Eid – something that has happened without fail over the past decade. The previous year's Eid offering, Bharat, which was partly shot in Abu Dhabi, earned more than 3.2 billion Indian rupees ($44 million) at the box office.

Salman took to Twitter over the weekend to share the update with fans, announcing the title would release in cinemas on May 13.

"Salman Khan and Eid have a special connection and we at Salman Khan Films are happy to continue the tradition with Radhe," a spokesperson for Salman Khan films told the Mumbai Mirror.

"We are looking forward to bring back the era of clapping, cheering, whistling and the house-full boards Salman Khan's movies are known for.

"We are delighted to collaborate with Zee Studios for Radhe and together we want the film to reach all the audience, and for them to enjoy it with all safety measures in place."

Directed by Prabhudheva, Radhe stars Disha Patani opposite Khan. It also features Randeep Hooda, Jackie Shroff and Zarin Wahab.
