First look at the trailer for Salman Khan's film Tiger Zinda Hai

Abu Dhabi plays a starring role in the much-anticipated film, which is due in UAE cinemas in December

Abu Dhabi makes its latest cameo appearance in the trailer for the upcoming Salman Khan action movie Tiger Zinda Hai, which landed on YouTube on Tuesday.

The film, which is set in war-torn Iraq, was shot in the capital, with a crew of over 300 people and around 1,500 extras. For 65 days during the summer the crew made Abu Dhabi their home, giving the movie the right to lay claim to the “longest movie shoot in the UAE to date.”

For  avid landmark spotters, the trailer doesn't give us too much to go on – the only shots we can confirm beyond doubt feature Khan riding a quad bike through the Liwa Desert.

Photos of the scenes were previously shared on Twitter by director Ali Abbas Zafar with a helpful "Liwa Desert" hashtag.

As for the heavily dressed up buildings and interiors we see, they could potentially be “Iraqified” sections of the capital, though they could just as easily be located in Greece or Morocco, where sections of the film were also shot.

The movie is a sequel to 2012's Ek Tha Tiger, and sees SRK's Indian secret agent, Tiger, team up with his Pakistani counterpart, played by Katrina Kaif to save the day in the Iraqi desert.

Tiger Zinda Hai releases in the UAE on December 21.
