Michael Bay has directed a turbo-charged love letter to Abu Dhabi.

Released today by the media hub twofour54 Abu Dhabi, the 90-second film is done in Bay’s signature kinetic style, as it takes in many of the capital’s landmarks including the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, the Liwa desert, Louvre Abu Dhabi and the Yas Marina Circuit.

The film was directed while Bay was in the capital in 2018 as part of the shoot for the Netflix action film 6 Underground.

The Transformers director and crew, which included the film's star Ryan Reynolds, spent a month in the UAE as they shot scenes across various locations which doubled up not only for a fictional Middle Eastern country, but countries such as Hong Kong, Nigeria and Afghanistan.

6 Underground is the latest feature to benefit from Abu Dhabi Film Commission's 30 per cent cashback rebate. Twofour54 Abu Dhabi assisted with production services, including location assistance, permits as well as catering, accommodation, travel and transportation.
