6 of the most touching Sridevi tributes

Bollywood legend Sridevi died in Dubai on Saturday, aged 54.

For 50 of those years she was an actor, and one whose star shone bright across Indian cinema.

Here are six tributes that remember her career and, in part, sum up how bereaved Bollywood, and the wider community is. Also, as journalist Harinder Baweja pointed out on Twitter, the famously shy star "deserves a postmortem of her career, not her body" in both the majority of media coverage as well as our collective memory.

1. This moment was shared by Hrithik Roshan, who described how the veteran actress made sure to put him at ease when he was a nervous child star in 1986's Bhagwan Dada:

2. Shekhar Kapur, who directed Sridevi in the iconic 1987 film Mr India wrote a long tribute to the actress on Instagram.

"You were the most exciting actress I ever worked with," said Kapur - who has directed everything from the Cate Blanchett Elizabeth movies to Bandit Queen.

He continued: "Your energy on camera was scintillating. There was not a moment on screen that you did not have the audience in your grip. Be it an emotion, a comic moment, a dance. You were so innovative.

"You always did far, far more than I asked of you. You were never less than surprising. As a human being, you were incredibly supportive of those you were close to. I remember when everyone was going at me for a film that was threatening to fall apart .. you fought for me like a tigress. You were so loyal to your Directors.

"We were waiting for Mr India 2," he added, "that film should have been made".

3. This artist's wonderful graphic work (turn the sound on when you watch the video) pays homage to Sridevi's many iconic roles:

4. Actor Kamal Haasan, who primarily works in Tamil cinema and appeared in 27 films with Sridevi, choked up as he talked about his memories of the legend:

Here's a look at one of the pairing's most famous songs:

5. Actor Jacqueline Fernandez posted a video of herself playing Hallelujah on the piano as a tribute to Sridevi, who she said "was always so gracious and kind to me".

She said the actress' passing reminded her that life is short and fragile: "every moments counts, this is not a rehearsal," she added.

6. This video sums up the breadth of Sridevi's career, which spanned five decades (considering she started working as an actress when she was just four):
