The Modhesh World reading corner was such a success in its first year that the entertainment venue is bringing the concept back.

The second version features a more expanded range of educational and entertainment activities for children, alongside the Dubai Summer Surprises at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

The designated area allows children and parents to read and spend quality time together in hopes of promoting stronger reading habits across to younger generations.

There are also activities on hand to help improve reading skills. The library of books include both English and Arabic and there will be reading workshops and sessions as well as educational games on hand.

Dr Hissa bin Masoud, Director of Dubai Public Library at Dubai Culture, said: “This step is aligned with the Authority’s ongoing support of the National Reading Strategy 2016-2026, which was launched by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and is supported by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.”

Modhesh World's reading corner runs until August 12, open daily from 11am to 11pm. Entry is Dh20, at Halls 1-6 at Dubai World Trade Centre.
