This year's Al Ain Book Fair is all set to celebrate a selection of Emirati titles in an initiative that is geared toward promoting Emirati publishing.
As well as showcasing literature, the fair will have an accompanying cultural component with the programme including hosted discussions with intellectuals, writers and journalists.
“The fair is an opportunity to encourage new writers in to the publishing industry through direct communication and to explore their achievements," says Abdullah Majed Al Ali, Acting Executive Director of the National Library Sector at TCA Abu Dhabi.
"We can confidently say that the UAE has been able to achieve in a few years in the field of publishing what other countries have taken decades to achieve.”
The ninth edition of the fair will be held at the Al Ain Convention Centre from September 24 until October 2 between the hours of 9am and 1pm and 5pm and 9pm.
