  • Arabic

Want to introduce your child to the inspirational world of art? Founders of The Happy Box, Linda and Jumana Al Darwish have themed this month’s box around the subject of art.

The Happy Box is a subscription service where, each month, a box of eight activities, a book and all materials required to complete the activities are delivered to your door with instructions in English and Arabic. Every activity is educational yet fun and engaging, promoting cognitive development, creativity and both fine and gross motor skills.

The Happy Art Appreciation Box focuses on Middle Eastern Art is inspired by the work of the prominent Emirati artist, Her Highness Sheikha Alyazia bint Nahyan al Nahyan. Children will recreate an airplane in flight inspired by Sheikha Alyazia's Spontaneity series. They will also be encouraged to paint an Islamic-inspired plate, design a box to hold coloured sand in which to practice writing skills, create geometric paper forms that can be built with, utilise shadow and shape to create a self-silhouette, design a sun-catcher mosque and paint a calligraphy sign with a special message.
