ArteEast is partnering with Socrates Sculpture Park in Long Island City, Queens, to identify a MENA-identified teaching artist for one of Socrates’ Summer 2016 Saturday Sculpture Workshops. Applicants should be resident in the New York City metro area or planning to be in New York during the summer 2016 period.
All workshops take place in an outdoor education corridor within Socrates’ five-acre waterfront park in Long Island City, Queens and serve thousands of children from May-Sept. ArteEast is looking for the artist to lead one of these workshops for the park’s longstanding art education program: Saturday Sculpture Workshops. The objective of this program is to use a hands-on, engaged learning environment as a means for creative expression that inspires confidence in communication and independent thinking.
