Sheikha Hoor Al Qasimi, the president and founder of Sharjah Art Foundation is one of 10 curators from all over the world who will meet in Kolkata, India to discuss, debate and share curatorial practices. The Curators Hub is hosted by Experimenter Gallery and is now in its fifth edition and will take place from July 23-25. Sheikha Hoor has made huge contributions to the regional art scene through her work with the foundation and the Sharjah Biennial, which is now a firm fixture on the global art calendar. Most recently, she has curated the UAE's National Pavilion for the 56th Venice Biennale. The show, 1980 – Today: Exhibitions in the UAE, features 15 Emirati artists with work dating from the late 1960s. It is an attempt to crystallise the history of artistic practice in the UAE.
