Discover the work of Fari Bradley tonight at The Mine

It’s opening night tonight for several Dubai galleries so be sure to head down to Alserkal Avenue to see the new shows. For something off the beaten track, head to the Mine, which is located in row of warehouses directly across the road from Alserkal Avenue. Here you can discover the work of Fari Bradley, an emerging artist who has previously been known for her sound work alongside her partner Chris Weaver. This show, called Stitches to Save 9 With is a solo show of works under a new platform at the gallery, which puts an emphasis on up and coming artists.

The exhibition combines Bradley’s interest in spoken word with earlier works using mixed media and textiles. She has hand stitched phrases and sayings such as ‘no woman is an island’, ‘united we stand’ and ‘electric dreams can’t last’ into several different fabrics to show that although they contain wisdom, they are falling out of use - just as hand stitching itself is disappearing. The opening is tonight at 7pm.

* Stitches to Save 9 With runs from April 25 at The Mine, Al Quoz 1
