Artscoops, the Beirut-based online art gallery has got their hands on some wonderful work from masterful painters from across the region. As such, they are hosting their first live auction this weekend.
Works from Jamil Molaeb, Paul Guiragossian, Etel Adnan, Hiba Kalache, Safwan Dahoul, Hassan Hajjaj, Oussama Baalbaki and 80 other contemporary artists will be in the sale, which is already on preview online.
The Art Blog particularly likes the Safwan Dahoul piece from 1991, which predates his current dream series but in which you can see its beginnings. Also, there is a wonderful abstract piece by Marwan Sahmarani from this year. For more info check out the website. This is a small organisation with great ambition and the quality of this sale reflects as much.
