The Salama bint Hamdan Al Nahyan Foundation has launching a new art-related initiative. The 1:100 design competition is an “exhibition of artistic transformations exploring ideas around the preservation of built form in redeveloping cities”.

What that means is that each contestant will be given a three-dimensional model of a warehouse at the scale of 1:100 that they can artistically transform using any medium. A selection of the entries, chosen by a panel, will be exhibited in November. Throughout the duration of the exhibition the guests will be invited to vote for their favourite design and three models will be awarded.

To apply you must send your CV, passport copy and UAE residency visa page if applicable, a portfolio with 3-5 samples of your work and a personal statement of 500 words describing why you should be selected for the competition. NB: All documents must be in PDF format and deadline is June 29.
