Art Dubai's dXb Store puts a call out for UAE based designers

Art Dubai's dXb Store is on the hunt for some UAE-based designers and artists that would like to showcase their work at the event

Calling all UAE-based designers and artists with wares to sell: Art Dubai, the city's celebrated art fair, is gearing up to return in March and the team is once again on the hunt for home-grown talent.

The dXb Store returns to the art fair's programme and aims to showcase the work of UAE-based creatives working on a diversity of mediums. From jewellery and clothing to handmade notebooks and cutlery designed to liven up a dinner table, the store is a go-to for locally made products that represent some of the country's talent who are working behind the scenes.

The store made its debut last year with products and projects by students from the College of Architecture, Art and Design at the American University of Sharjah. For Art Dubai 2013, the team has put out an open call, with both nationals and residents eligible to apply.

Artists and designers can pitch up to three products for inclusion and must be able to provide a feasible production plan for their projects. Successful applicants have the opportunity to sell their work to fair visitors through the dXb Store and, with 22,500 visitors attending the fair last year, there's a pretty sizeable pool of potential buyers passing through.
