5 Minutes with BrisB

Dubai based hip-hop artist BrisB has made waves in the local hip-hop scene with his sprightly new EP Microphone Messiah. True to the name of the release, the Nigerian rapper is not short of self confidence when discussing his rising career to date.

The first album I was Stankonia by Outkast solely because I'm the biggest Andre 3000 fan and groupie ever.

My first gig was me and my two older brothers singing at the age of eight at my granddads birthday. I think this fits the context of the word "gig" cause I was payed in honour and humility.

My gigs now are all energy, soul, interaction, passion and a red styrophone cup (no jokes).

My favourite musician is Andre 3K because I see myself in him creatively and I don't mean to flatter myself. I see myself in Donald Trump too sometimes, but I hate him.

A song I wish I wrote? Funny enough, no song, because my preference and sound is perfect to me and will be perfect to you all some day.
