After a goalless first leg of the semi-final tie at Stamford Bridge, Liverpool took an early lead at Anfield through a Luis Garcia effort, which Chelsea claimed did not fully cross the line, though if the goal had not been given the home side would have likely had a penalty for Petr Cech colliding with Garcia.
