The Galleria on Al Maryah Island has just announced its latest initiative: a dressing room, which requires neither undressing nor jumbles of hangers. The fashion-meets-technology initiative gives shoppers the opportunity to select clothing options on a screen, and then view images of themselves wearing the garments they’re interested in buying.
3D body-mapping technology, combined with fabric simulation, will allow shoppers to see full 360 degrees projections of themselves, decked out in the latest designs from a number of brands like Lanvin, Tom Ford, Moschino, Diane von Furstenberg, Emilio Pucci, Michael Kors and Tommy Hilfiger. The Virtual Style Pod will also be open to men who can browse brands like Sacoor Brothers, Thomas Pink and Ermenegildo Zegna.
If shoppers are unable to make a quick decision, they can leave with a photo of themselves wearing the projected pieces and return later, should they decide to purchase them.
The Virtual Style Pod, available on level 1 of The Galleria on Al Maryah Island, Abu Dhabi, will be complimentary from November 19th to January 2016.
