Tory Burch’s coastal-themed collection unveiled in Dubai

The spring/summer collection by Tory Burch was revealed to members of the press last month at The One and Only Royal Mirage in Dubai. The designer describes the range as a stylish fusion of the East and West coasts of America.

“We begin out East, hostess chic to cool prep.” says Burch “From there, we continue to the free-spirited beach towns of the West Coast. It’s about contrast: graphic motifs and engineered prints, rope, pearls and macramé, mules and moccasins, structured and bohemian ease. Relaxed and effortless — quintessential American style.”

Silhouettes of the collection are structured, with tailored empire waists, wide-leg sailor trousers and tomboy blazers. Other notable inclusions are breezy dresses, peasant blouses and board shorts. Destined to be popular in the UAE, Burch has added a selection of tunics and kaftans to the upcoming seasonal slate.

The palette flits from coral pink, sandy gold and fir tree green to rich ocean blues. Bold reds also feature, giving way to sun-bleached shades of orange, yellow and periwinkle.

As for the prints, the range is characterised by a recurring ‘garden motif’, regatta stripes and nautical prints. These are interspersed with bohemian batiks and patchwork florals, in fabrics from linen and silk shantung to cotton knits.
