Three companies caught issuing fake work permits in Al Ain

AL AIN // Three private-sector firms have been fined at Al Ain’s Court of First Instance for issuing fake work permits and providing false data to the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation.

Mubarak Al Dhahiri, undersecretary at the ministry, said such illegal behaviour will not be tolerated and companies will be referred to court for immediate action.

“According to cabinet decision No. 40 of 2014, a Dh20,000 fine shall be slapped on each fraud case, followed by a complete halt to granting permits to such establishments,” he said, urging all company owners to keep an eye on their businesses to avoid such offences.

Each company was fined Dh50,000 for breaking the law.

Two Asian businessmen were each sentenced to one year in prison, followed by deportation, while another Asian businessman was jailed for three years, followed by deportation.
