Paris Fashion Week 2016: Vince’s AW16 collection

Oversized knits and comfy basics were all on show as part of Vince’s AW16 collection. The American brand recently gave its fabric quality an upgrade, and it certainly showed. Cozy cardigans and sweaters were presented in sumptuous, boiled cashmere - the kind that you can’t help but touch while browsing, while leather trousers and jackets offered a more luxurious feel.

The location, tucked away within one of the rooms on the rue Saint-Florentine in Paris, featured high ceilings, floor to ceiling windows, white walls, parquet flooring and opulent marble fireplaces - all ideal for highlighting the brand’s shift in quality.

Layering was the theme of the day - a coincidentally appropriate choice as the already unpredictable weather turned to hail outside on the streets of the French capital. A white shirt was shown under a cropped jean jacket and a soft cashmere coat, and paired with black cigarette trousers and black, platform flats. Meanwhile, a camel coloured, suede mini skirt was paired with a simple turtleneck, tucked in, with a cable-knit cardigan worn over the shoulders, and paired with grey, round-toed slides, for that much desired, effortlessly chic look.

Colours were muted, featuring taupe, grey, cream and black, while silhouettes were oversized and forgiving. Shoes were understated, ranging from close-toed, leather pointed slides in grey, brown and black, to heeled suede ankle-boots in maroon and black.
