ABU DHABI // Etihad Airways is warning passengers to anticipate “significant disruption to flights” to and from the northeastern United States from Saturday to Monday, due to a winter storm.
“Flights to and from Abu Dhabi to New York JFK and Washington DC between 23 January and 25 January are likely to experience significant delays and some cancellations,” according to an Etihad Airways statement.
Passengers booked on flights EY 103, 102, 101, 100, 131, 130 between January 23 and 25 are "strongly advised to call the Etihad Airways Contact Centre" at +971 02 599 0000 or visit etihad.com for more information. Flights EY131 and EY130 to and from Washington DC and EY 103 and EY102 to and from New York have been cancelled for January 23.
Emirates airline said it hasn’t experienced any disruptions as a result of the storm and that everything is operating as normal.
Winter storm Jonas began Thursday and is expected to develop into “a major snowstorm Friday into the weekend over a large swath of the East Coast,” according to weather.com. “Heavy snow is expected to fall across parts of at least 15 states, with blizzard conditions possible over parts of the Washington DC, Baltimore and New York City metro areas. Winter storm Jonas will also feature strong, possibly damaging winds, significant icing and coastal flooding.”
