A project to provide 9,000 meals at Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem to fasting families was launched by the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation.
On Wednesday, 2,500 meals containing basic food items such as rice, chicken, dates, water and juice, were served to Palestinian families.
The initiative was carried out under the directive of President Sheikh Khalifa, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, supported by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs and chairman of the Foundation.
The families expressed their gratitude to the UAE and its leadership, according to Wam, the state news agency.
