Since its launch in 2014 in London, the Hermès Silk Ball has travelled the globe, and finally came to Dubai on Wednesday, June 3, for its Middle East debut.
“Beauty and the beast” was the theme of the extravagant masquerade ball, with invitees asked to come wearing an Hermès scarf. Held at Jumeirah Zabeel Saray, The Palm, the ballroom was lavishly decorated with silk scarves, while a maze of mirrors was set up, creating hidden rooms.
Through the night, a DJ played music, acrobats performed, artists painted cardboard fans, and guests stopped by tables offering make-overs, with flower-wreath hair ornaments and crystal face tattoos. A corner was dedicated to those who wanted their fortune told through their scarves.
Guests also enjoyed a selection of tasty nibbles and desserts – strawberries and grapes laid out over “grass” beside a mini-waterfall; stacks of colourful macaroons; a cheese board; and a delicate chocolate sculpture featuring horses and the Eiffel Tower.
