Hello, Bello: stuntman plans Dubai spectacle

Bello Nock and Dubai may have been made for each other. The US performer promotes himself as “the world’s greatest daredevil”, so it’s only natural that he would find himself attracted to a city that excels in creating things that are bigger and better than anywhere else on Earth.

In a YouTube video released this week, Nock says he has devised a whirlwind stunt called "Burj to Burj", in which he will walk a tightrope across Dubai Fountain Lake outside the Burj Khalifa, then be whisked by helicopter, dangling from a rope attached to one leg, and be shot out of a cannon from the helipad of the Burj Al Arab, gliding to the ground with the help of a specially designed wing suit.

The coda to all this – an exercise he has dubbed “Ultimate 2” as the follow up to his “Ultimate 1” stunt being filmed in Las Vegas in August – is that Nock is waiting for permission from the various authorities in Dubai before he can do it.The eccentric American will certainly cut an impressive figure if he does get the chance to walk and fly across the Dubai skyline. And, with his heavily-gelled Bart Simpson-style spiky hair, he will probably save on the cost of a crash helmet.
