Dubai Ruler issues law to establish global initiatives foundation

DUBAI // Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, has issued a law to establish the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives foundation.

The law sets the foundation’s objectives and lists the entities it will work with.

The foundation’s board of trustees was formed, with Sheikh Mohammed as chairman and Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, as deputy chairman.

Mohammed Al Gargawi was also appointed secretary general and Saeed Al Dhanhani was made assistant secretary general.

The foundation’s objectives are to promote the UAE’s strategy on humanitarian, development and social work both at home and across the Arab World.

Under the law, the foundation was granted the power to supervise and coordinate the initiatives, projects and programmes undertaken by the concerned entities.
