Chopra calls Bachchan a ‘superhero’
Priyanka Chopra hailed Amitabh Bachchan as a "true superhero". The Bollywood superstar made the comments while promoting the film Krrish 3. She claimed that after her late father Ashok Chopra, the legendary Bachchan holds all the traits of a real-life heroic figure. "Amitabh Bachchan is a true superhero because the way he has handled his career is just fantastic," she said. "Today, he has reached a level which no one has. Despite numerous ups and downs, the kind of consistency he has been able to sustain is remarkable. Despite several personal tragedies and victories, that is one man, who never ceased to contribute to the entertainment industry and continued to touch our lives. His energy levels are way beyond and, shamefully, we still can't match up to him." – IANS
Shilpa Shetty’s home burgled
The home of the Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty and her businessman husband Raj Kundra was burgled last week. Shetty's house manager filed a report on the incident, indicating the sound system and iPod were among the items missing. "We have not caught anyone so far, but the investigations are on," said an official from the investigating Juhu police station. The couple are busy at work promoting the film Dishkiyaaoon, the first under their joint production company. The drama stars Harman Baweja and Sunny Deol and will also introduce the newcomer Ayesha Khanna. – IANS
Bollywood to remake Escape Plan
The Hollywood action flick Escape Plan will receive the Bollywood treatment. PVR Pictures recently acquired the rights to remake the Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger buddy film. The studio head Deepark Sharma told the Hindustan Times that the search is on for the two male leads, with the actors John Abraham and Akshay Kumar tipped to take on the roles. “Arnold and Sylvester are the biggest action stars alive and we want to cast someone who will be a great fit for their parts in the Hindi version,” he said. “We are certain that this will make for a movie that the audience will look forward to.” Escape Plan was released in India on Friday.
