With a 4am call time, team Luxury ventured out to the depths of the desert near Al Maha, a Luxury Collection Desert Resort and Spa in Dubai. An hour's drive later, complete with a spot of off-roading and the sight of a beautiful desert sunrise, we had arrived at our destination, and in the serene, nature-surrounded grounds of the resort, we felt we were many, many miles away from the city.
Though we were lucky to have the resort’s Bedouin Suite with heritage interiors and a quaint, tent-like ceiling, as the headquarters for our shoot, we opted to capture the photographs purely outdoors. The hot outdoors, I might add. Needless to say, we were all drenched in sweat, but at the end of the day, had a collection of beautiful images to make it all worth it.
Camels and oryx make appearances in the shoot, where our model is clothed in designs by Burberry and Gucci, plus regional designers such as Arwa Al Banawi, Endemage and more. Pieces from & Other Stories, which opened in Dubai a few weeks ago, were also incorporated in the fashion story, along with a handful of beautiful silk scarves by Hermès, and a stunning Dolce and Gabbana abaya.
