The UAE's leaders have sent their congratulations to King Abdullah II of Jordan on his country's 73rd National Day.

The President, Sheikh Khalifa, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, sent messages of congratulation to King Abdullah, state news agency Wam reported.

The Vice President and the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi also sent messages to Jordanian Prime Minister Omar Razzaz.

The UAE and Jordan reaffirmed their strong ties during a visit by King Abdullah on Tuesday.

The Jordanian king, who was accompanied by Crown Prince Hussein, was greeted on his arrival in Abu Dhabi by Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, who had visited Jordan in November.

Jordan's Petra news agency said King Abdullah also received cables of congratulation from leaders of other Arab, Muslim and friendly countries on Saturday, as well as from senior Jordanian officials and officers, and leaders of civil society organisations.
