US President Donald Trump issued an executive order on Wednesay imposing new sanctions on Iran, the third round since he entered the Oval Office, threatening to send tensions with Tehran into new and uncertain territory.
The new restrictions relate to Iran’s iron, steel, aluminium and copper sectors. The announcement came shortly after Washington said that Iran should expect a new round of sanctions “very soon”.
