Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed reviews Covid-19 measures with King of Belgium

The two stressed the importance of scientific research in the fight against coronavirus

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, spoke with the King of Belgium on Wednesday to review Covid-19 measures and discuss areas of co-operation.

Sheikh Mohamed and King Philippe discussed regional and international issues of mutual interest, including the Covid-19 pandemic, the state news agency Wam reported.

The conversation covered the global fight against the respiratory virus, co-operation with international efforts and measures to battle the effects of the pandemic.

They stressed the importance of scientific research to find successful treatments and vaccines.

Sheikh Mohamed and King Philippe noted the need to support institutions in various countries that are working to develop a vaccine.

They spoke of the importance of enhancing co-operation and co-ordination among these bodies working against the coronavirus, which has infected more than 9.4 million people globally.
